There are some milestones that deserve to be celebrated. For 3S Adolescent Care, reaching four homes in under four years is certainly one of them.
But the number itself is not what matters most.
What matters is what those four homes represent: four safe environments, four teams committed to making a difference, and opportunities for more children and young people to experience something that every child deserves, a place where they feel safe, understood, respected and able to look towards the future with confidence.
Growth with purpose
Growth in children’s residential care cannot simply be about opening more homes.
Every new home represents a significant responsibility. It must be more than a building with bedrooms and communal spaces. It needs to become a genuine home, somewhere a young person can develop relationships, discover their strengths and begin to believe that their future can be different.
That is why our growth is purposeful.
As 3S has developed, our focus has remained firmly on the quality of the experience we provide, not simply the number of homes we operate.
We want every young person to receive individualised care that recognises who they are, where they have come from and where they want to go.
The importance of consistency
For children who have experienced disruption, uncertainty or placement instability, consistency matters enormously.
A consistent team.A consistent approach.Consistent boundaries.Consistent expectations.And, perhaps most importantly, consistent relationships.
This is one of the reasons our growth is carefully managed. We want our culture, values and approach to remain visible in every home as 3S continues to develop.
Ofsted's current inspection framework places considerable emphasis on children's experiences and progress, including their sense of belonging and stability, relationships with staff, wellbeing, education and preparation for their future.
For us, these aren't simply inspection criteria. They are the foundations of good care.

Four homes, countless individual journeys
Behind every milestone is a young person.
A young person returning to education.
Someone learning to manage their emotions.
Someone developing trust in adults.
Someone trying a new activity for the first time.
Someone beginning to imagine a future they once thought was out of reach.
Those moments may not make headlines, but they are the moments that matter.
So yes, four homes in under four years is something we are proud of. But our ambition goes much further.
We want to continue growing in a way that strengthens our ability to provide exceptional care, while protecting the thing that matters most.
The child or young person at the heart of everything we do.
